I did my bachelor's in Art History at Leiden University and am now doing my master's in Museum Studies at the University of Amsterdam while working in collection management at the Zaans Museum. I love cold weather, the smell of coffee and cinnamon at 7am, vividly hallucinating with my books, smelling the spot behind the ears of a cat and solo traveling. I’ve been a cat owner for over ten years. In total, my parents and I have cared for three cats, and we’re lucky to still share our lives with two of them. Like many cat families, we have the full spectrum of personalities: a fluffy cuddle-lover and a more gothic, distant–yet-affectionate soul. What has always amazed me about cats is the way they teach us to see companionship differently. Being together while each doing our own thing feels like the purest form of company. Their smallest moments of joy or excitement genuinely make my day. I don’t catsit for the money—which is also why I ask for the minimum possible price on the app—but because after spending a few years without cats, I realised just how much I missed their presence. I never mind going the extra mile when it’s in their best interest. Your cats’ happiness, comfort, and health are always my top priorities.
